HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED A LINER?

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF INSTALLING A LINER?
Depending on the type of liner and fuel of the system will determine how the liner is installed. When it comes to fireplace liners it usually involves the same steps. One, is the removal of the old damaged flue (if present) to make room for the new liner. Two, is the installation of the actual liner into the cavity of the chimney. Three, insulating of the liner. Whether the liner is wrapped of poured insulation is used, fireplace liners need some for of insulation. The last steps are installation of a top plate andย parging around the liner in the smoke chamber.
